The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – Measuring Success — The Good Vibes Only Roadshow

Measuring Success can mean so many things, but unfortunately many seem to think it is how much you have in your bank account that matters most. Yes, we all need money to survive, but first we need to see what it is that truly makes us happy. When you can dive into your heart and […]

The Good Vibes Only Roadshow – See The Light — The Good Vibes Only Roadshow

There comes a point in everyone’s life where we, “See The Light!” Life is about learning; life gives us many experiences to learn from, but it is whether we see the Light or not is what makes the difference. During times of darkness, it may seem as if there is no way out of it. […]

J.C. Brae Project – Brandy Records Canada

Brandy Records Canada is an Indie Record Label which was created during the production of the first J.C. Brae album.  We found with the experiences we had during the recording process, along with the guidance from our mentors in Nashville, it was in our best interest to have 100% control over this entire project; from the music to writing the film script.

The J.C. Brae Project combined with creating an Indie Record Label has given us the knowledge to help others in following their own path in this industry.

Brandy Records Canada will become a source of information; we were fortunate enough to have had some powerful mentors along our path, and we would like to give back by guiding others.

J.C. Brae Project – Dreams

When you experience a loss it isn’t easy to move forward when you haven’t experienced the steps of grief.

As these steps appear, which we have no control on when they do, it is important to harness them and not fight them off.  These stages may appear during the day or even in your dreams at night.  When they happen, have a time of reflection.

Our lives recently changed with the loss of J.C.’s Mom.  With so much going on during this time, the steps in grieving showed up in the form of Dreams of Memories at night.

Having a Dream of Memories is to be cherished.  In my opinion, this is a very personal process which in itself is a gift.  Private visiting hours with a loved on who has passed away, with no interruptions from a day when we are awake.

If you experience Dreams of Memories let your dreams inspire you in the memory of your loved one.  Find comfort knowing they are still with us in whatever way they choose to present themselves.

Their love will never fade – especially in your Dreams.

The J.C. Brae Project – Saying Goodbye to a Great Woman

It has been a month since I have posted anything on my blog; unfortunately, we had to say Goodbye to a Great Woman.

Over the past year, my mother-in-law had been battling Cancer in British Columbia.  We were under the impression she was winning her battle – this was not the case.

Two days after we arrived in Ontario to start work on another production, we found out she was admitted into the hospital with 2 weeks to live.  My husband (J.C. Brae) then turned around and grabbed the first flight back to British Columbia to be with his Mom, along with his 8 siblings.

As a family, they were able to spend two weeks with her and created more cherished memories.

My husband decided to come home to Ontario while she was still in good spirits (he wanted to be able to remember her this way).  She passed away a week later on April 4th which was also my husbands birthday.

As a family, we have been remembering this beautiful soul over the past week and filling our hearts with the Good Vibes she has left us with.

Life is to be cherished and the test of losing a parent on my husbands birthday is a very hard test to pass, but we as a family, are making it a point to remember her in all of the greatness she has taught us.

A strong woman who loved her family; her strength and love is our foundation for continuing our journey to share with you our stories.

J.C. Brae – How High Did You Go

“How High Did You Go”, is the third track on the J.C Brae CD and was written by Mark Nesler/Tony Martin.

Lyrics:

Billy and his bicycle screamed down the hill

His school buddies yelled out you’re gonna get killed

Right as his wheels hit the ramp made of plywood and blocks

For a moment in time he soared above them

Evil Knievel had nothing on him

He was brave and foolish, young and carefree, he was launched

Flying over a ditch that was too wide to be jumped across

CHORUS

When he finally came down

Crashed into the ground

It wasn’t the stars that he saw

Or how far that he fell that they wanted to know

They all gathered ’round and said, “tell us”

How high did you go

The whole town said Billy would never get far

When he climbed on a greyhound with his old guitar

But he hopped off in Nashville, caught a song, headed straight to the top

He thought as he sang on the Grand Old Opry

Hank Sr and Jr.’s got nothing on me

He was fresh, had the look, had a hit, had a hat, he was hot

Flying up the new country charts until it all went  pop

CHORUS

When he finally came down

Crashed into the ground

It wasn’t the stars that he saw

Or how far that he fell that they wanted to know

They all gathered ’round and said, “tell us”

How high did you go

So to all you big dreamers and dishearted schemers

Who find yourselves back in the hole

Skip all the low points and tell us

How High Did You Go!

J.C. Brae – I Remember That Lonely

“I Remember That Lonely”, is the second track on the CD and a song that everyone can relate too.  This song is written by, Karen Staley and Doug McDonald

Lyrics:

My friend called me up cryin’ in the middle of the night

Said he missed her so damn bad, he wouldn’t make the morning light

I said, “I’ve been there buddy, the darkest hours before the dawn”

If it weren’t for amazing grace, I couldn’t have held on”

I told him not to be ashamed of asking for some help

I walked through that valley myself.

CHORUS

I remember that lonely

Brother, I know your pain

That soul crushing sorrow

That’ll drive you insane

I’ll be here for you

You can lean on me

Cause I remember that lonely

If it weren’t for you girl, I’d still be where he’s at

Drowning in my memories, I shudder to think back

But maybe I went through it so I would understand

How to give some comfort to a broken, desperate man

I told him just hang on I promise it gets better

I’ll be right over and we” get through this storm together.

CHORUS

I remember that lonely

Brother, I know your pain

That soul crushing sorrow

That’ll drive you insane

I’ll be here for you

You can lean on me

Cause I remember that lonely
